Food Service: Providing high-quality rice products to restaurants, catering companies, and other foodservice operations.
Private Label: Offering customized rice products for retailers under their own brand names.
Co-Products: Broken Rice used in a large variety of products across multiple industries, such as rice flour or alcoholic beverages like beer. Brewers most commonly used for making pet food in multiple forms and Ground Hulls used as fuel to generate power for our industrial plants!
Co-Packaging: In partnership with other product manufacturers, we can co-pack our premium rice with other foods such as ready to eat boxed meals, beans, spices and more!
Retail: Launching into the retail space with 2, 5, and 10lb bags of rice, bringing premium long grain white rice direct to consumers.
Export: Conveniently located for global export, Farmer’s Rice serves markets around the world, supplying premium rice to international customers.

We manage & cultivate the land

Excalibur Land Co. & Powell Farm Partners was established in 1995 to manage and operate 10,000 acres of company owned farm, timber and pasture land just east of Lake Charles, LA. The activities of the companies are devoted primarily to rice production, farmland operations and timber management.

We process & sell what comes off the land

The original Farmers Rice Mill plant was established in 1917, powered by steam engine and existed mainly to mill the crop raised by another affiliate company. Fast forward to today, Farmers Rice Mill is one of the largest mills in the United States, and the single largest agricultural related business in Southwest Louisiana.
Hardy Rice Dryer is a grain drying facility with state-of-the-art drying capabilities and experienced employees that allow it to keep up with today’s high yield harvest and harvesting equipment. Conveniently located in Lacassine, Louisiana, just 20 miles from FRM Co., the facility currently dries 4% of the entire state’s crop and is a critical part of Farmers Rice Mill’s expansion plans.

We produce electricity with the by-products from the processing

Agrilectric Power Partners began operations in 1984 and today’s one of only a few true biomass facilities in Louisiana. Turning a waste product into usable energy is something we have been doing for over 40 years. Distinguished by its uniqueness, Agrilectric Power Partners is a large rice hull fueled electrical generation facility. It is one of a kind in the south, and one of only a few plants in the world which utilizes rice hulls, a by-product of rice milling, to make electricity. Agrilectric produces enough electricity to run the power plant and the adjacent rice milling operations, and then sells the excess power to the public utility.

We sell the residual ash from the fuel which makes electricity

Agrilectric Research Company is the sister plant to Agrilectric Power Partners that processes, markets, and sells the by-product rice hull ash. With unique insulation and filtration properties, our rice hull ash is being marketed and sold worldwide into various industries. The primary uses for the product are as an insulator in steel processing and as a high performance, renewable aid for all types of solid liquid separation applications. It’s environmentally friendly and a truly green by-product produced from rice!
